A collection by Damien Lovegrove

These personal photographs are from my early digital era. Coming from film, digital photography opened up new opportunities and the first thing to go was the light meter. Having instant feedback meant that the mood of a shot could be set by eye alone. I love wild, dramatic lighting, the sort that’s impossible to measure. I can see straight away on the LCD or in the EVF when it’s spot on.

The photographs in this set were taken in the US, Australia, Holland, Ireland and the UK.

“Colour is dangerous in photography unless it’s handled with care” Damien Lovegrove

“There is nothing quite like a splash of colour to brighten up an image but making decent colour photographs has been one of the constant challenges throughout my career.” Damien Lovegrove
