The Personal Collection

Damien Lovegrove

These galleries contain over 1000 of my favourite personal photographs. Over the past 20 years, I have been fortunate enough to photograph hundreds of people in beautiful locations all over the world. The vast majority of the photographs in these galleries were taken while I was leading workshops or adventures in places far and wide ranging from Cuba to Cambodia and from the deserts of California to the deserts of Africa.

Each photograph has a unique URL. Click through to the ‘lightbox’ view and copy the URL from the browser window for a direct link to the image. Feel free to save the images to use as personal inspiration but please don’t reproduce the photographs without prior permission. If you would like to ask me about any of my photographs please include the URL in your message here.

Fujifilm GF Lenses

These galleries showcase my photographs taken with four GF lenses from Fujifilm. I’ve settled on these four lenses for my personal work although my GF 250 rarely gets an outing these days.

All of the photographs in these galleries were taken on my Fujifilm GFX50s. I’ve used it exclusively since January 2017. The camera was on a tripod for the vast majority of these captures.

“The most important part of the process of making photographs is the photographer. It is the photographers job to have a vision of the finished photograph. To scout the locations, find a suitable model, style the shoot, design the lighting and most of all, create the moment. The lens comes next as it converts the three dimensional scene that the photographer has set up into a two dimensional image. Lens characteristics play an important part in the look of the final photograph. Finally it is the camera that has to record the image. It is impossible to tell the make and model of a camera just by looking at a photograph. Any camera made in the past ten years is perfectly up to the task of capturing fine portraits.” Damien Lovegrove
